About Roswell Boot Camp
BodyBack! Fitness was Founded with
Chris Buckley's
Lifelong Passion for Health, Fitness, and Sports.
Chris
Buckley has been active in fitness for 18 years.
Yeah…real impressive right? He is a graduate of the University of
Florida in Gainesville with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology
(now that is impressive…the Gator part). He is an ISSA
(International Sports Sciences Association) certified
personal fitness trainer. Again, probably something you don’t care
about. Hey, he’s gotta toot his own horn a little bit, right? He
specializes in helping people reach their fitness goals through proper
nutrition, cardiovascular exercise, and effective resistance training
techniques. All the tried and true stuff that everybody talks about,
but rarely put into practice without a little accountability.
A South Florida native, Chris graduated from the University of Florida
with a bachelor’s degree in 1997. Since that time, he has been active
as an exercise physiologist and personal trainer for the North Broward
Hospital District in sunny South Florida. He’s also worked as a
disinfectant specialist (janitor) for his father’s cleaning business,
and as a bartender working for dad, as well (yeah, I suppose he was
part of the problem). Don’t suppose these jobs would be applicable in
running a bootcamp, though they do build character.
Back to his fitness roots, Chris has worked with a variety of clientele
over the years, ranging from highly trained athletes to individuals in
various disease states. Under the tutelage of Florida’s finest cardiac
nurses, he excelled in the rehabilitation of heart and lung disease
patients at North Broward Medical Center. You know, the EKG’s and all
that jazz. In addition, Chris has worked alongside physicians and
physical therapists in an orthopedic rehabilitation setting at Imperial
Point Medical Center in Ft. Lauderdale.
Holding progress of clients and patients in the highest regard, he
pushes the limits without compromising safety. As an active participant
in various team sports such as basketball and volleyball, and
dedication to his own weight training regimen, Chris practices
what he preaches. Also an avid runner, he has participated in
various 5 K races and has completed the Disney half-marathon (on only 3
hours sleep and a bum foot).
In June of 2005 Chris left sunny South Florida to pursue his dream of
opening his first business. Yes, he voluntarily moved from sunny,
beachy South Florida to Georgia. See, it was all part of the master
plan to meet his bride, a sassy brunette belle who goes by the name of
Jaime. In March of 2005 he opened his own private one-on-one
personal training studio in Buckhead. After growing that
studio to be one of the largest and most successful personal training
studios in Metro Atlanta, Chris decided it was time to branch out.
He noticed a curious lack of REAL health and fitness solutions
in the North Atlanta suburbs. Sure there are numerous gyms in the area,
but we all know that gyms are a waste of money for most people. Gyms
could care less about the success of their members, as long as those
monthly dues continue to come in.
That’s when the idea struck. Chris has had so much success in Buckhead,
but the drive was killing him. So…Why not expand his expertise to the
north side of town? He could eliminate the daily drive to Buckhead, and
bring a real fitness solution to North Atlanta!
Well he has done it! With the launching of BodyBack! Boot
Camps!
Chris currently lives with his wife Jaime in Cumming, (they plan on
moving to the Roswell/Woodstock area as soon as the house closes) and
in the spirit of reducing their commutes and their affinity for the
‘burbs, will set up permanent shop OTP ASAP. Oh yeah, their first
little one is due in late March 2010. An un-named little gal!
Chris has been featured in numerous local publications
including Johns Creek Herald, the Northside Neighbor, and more.
Chris was also a featured author in the largest health and fitness book
ever written, “The Most Complete, Practical, And HONEST
Weight Loss Fitness And Nutrition Guide- For REAL People Who Want REAL
Results REALLY Fast!”
Chris also educates the general public (or anyone who will listen to
his rants) on health and fitness through the venue of public speaking.
He has spoken at numerous doctor’s offices, civic groups, large
companies, and high schools.
Interests include Gator football, Seinfeld, Star Wars, talk radio,
Jaime-time, Pure Taqueria, the end of workout time, pumpkin scented
candles, and weather.com.
And yes, he is CPR/AED certified, in case you were
wondering.
